M.A.R.S has the privilege of sending our Amalgam Separator Compliance Expert, Jason Buyukozer, to the 35th Annual Industrial Waste & Pretreatment Conference in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jason has been asked to this year’s event to help the members of the Virginia Water Environment Association understand the new EPA Dental Regulation, be introduced to the technical side of amalgam separators and learn how to prepare Best Management Practices in order to implement the new law.
Virginia Water Environment Association
The Virginia Water Environment Association was founded in 1947; they are a non-profit, technical and educational organization focused on producing quality programs for continuing education and training for VWEA members, the technical community and the general public.
VWEA is a member association of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and collaborates with many other industry organizations, such as WEF and the Virginia Section of the American Water Works Association. VWEA members include civil and environmental engineers, biologists, chemists, local and state government officials, treatment plant managers and operators, laboratory technicians, students, professors, environmental scientists, equipment manufacturers, and distributors.
The Annual Industrial Waste & Pretreatment Conference allows the VWEA to provide their members with the training and information required to fulfill their mission statement “preserve and enhance Virginia’s water environment, now and for future generations.”
On Monday, March 4th, 2019 at 1 pm, Jason Buyukozer will be providing a detailed and hands-on 2-hour training session at the Omni Hotel, in Charlottesville, Virginia. During the M.A.R.S training session, VWEA members will be introduced to the City of Toronto’s Pollution Prevention Plan as a starting place to create, implement, and enforce their own Best Management Practices. Our Workshop will illustrate how the City of Toronto regulates 3,500 Dentists using only 15 Inspectors to cover not only Dental but all regulated industries. The goal by the end of this Educational Course is every VWEA member will feel confident in their ability to create a BMP that will not only protects the interests of all parties but requires minimal investment of resources.
