Inov8 Air Disinfection

The AD takes the surrounding air within an enclosed space, processes it and combines it with olefin – the natural scents of flowers and plants – creating hydroxyl radicals that react with the molecules in airborne pathogens and removes them.

Through this process the AD unit disinfects the air continuously resulting in a clean, fresh environment.

Air disinfection solutions protecting against bacteria, viruses and fungi

...in hospitals, care centres, health centres,  doctors’ surgeries, dental surgeries,  offices, call centres, factories, manufacturing plants, cruise liners, hotels, restaurants, conference venues, gyms, changing rooms, community centres, universities, schools, nurseries,  shops, theatres, cinemas

...and many other indoor areas.

 Wall Mounted Unit

The wall mounted AD unit is recommended for use in busy areas such as in hospitals, commercial and industrial premises.  A lockable top makes the AD units tamper-proof, so only key holders can change the cartrdige.

Floor Standing Unit

The floor standing AD unit is recommended for use in sensitive areas such as offices, call centres, doctors and dental surgeries.

Compact, quiet and easy to use, the AD units offer a safe, reliable and natural way to continuously protect against infections and diseases caused by airborne bacteria, viruses and fungi.

The Hydroxyl Radical

The Hydroxyl Radical (OHº) is essential to life; in the body, OHº is produced by cells to kill invading pathogens as an integral part of the body’s own immune system. In the open air OHº is produced by the interaction of ozone and natural olefins, which are released by plants and flowers.

OHº is a transient energy source, however, when it reacts with molecules on the surface of a pathogen, more OHº is produced which creates a natural cascade, creating more OHº to destroy more pathogens. This means that even a low level output of OHº is capable of disinfecting an enclosed space. The disinfection effect has been repeatedly proven at UK Government facilities against challenges such as Clostridium difficile (C.diff), live Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and MS2 Phages at Leeds University. These tests demonstrate that with OHº, a room was maintained below infectious levels even when a high density of pathogens was continually added into the test chamber.

The Technology

The Inov8 Air Disinfection technology has been developed and extensively tested to recreate the natural germ killing and beneficial properties of fresh air.

Inside a robust body crafted from aerospace grade aluminium alloys, the AD takes ordinary air, lifts the ozone content and then, still within the confines of the machine, quenches the ozone to produce just air, the faint scent of plants or flowers, and OHº, free to protect everyone within the space where the unit runs.

Years of engineering have produced a machine that operates on 12 volts for complete electrical safety which complies with rigorous electrical interference regulations and is fail-safe.

All the user needs to do is replace the refill cartridge containing the distilled scent of plants every 3 months. A warning note sounds if this is forgotten and if the supply of olefin is exhausted, the machine switches itself off. State of the art sensing technologies ensure that the ozone levels in the room where the machine is used can never reach even the minimal levels permitted by the most rigorous Government agencies.

Scientific Evidence

The evidence and results shown in this section include data on file and independently administered trials.

They include laboratory tests at both the Aero-biology laboratory operated by the Health Protection Agency at Porton Down and tests undertaken at the Aero-biology laboratory at Leeds University as well as results from use of the AD in a clinical environment at Sunderland City Hospital.

All tests compare a control (that is, without the AD) and the test with the AD.

Please take time to study the graphical output listed in the trials and tests below, taking note of the extreme scaling.
