Thank you for following us on this journey to learning how to read the User Manuals of the top six amalgam separators sold in North America. Today’s blog series will be offering insight on how to understand an amalgam separator’s user manual and perform the tasks required to remain compliant. Part one of this blog series will be focusing the only stress-free amalgam separator that will keep your office compliant, the M.A.R.S LibertyBOSS.
M.A.R.S LibertyBOSS User Manual
M.A.R.S Bio-Med has three printed Installation Manuals;
Standard LibertyBOSS Manual –
This user manual comes with a standard order LibertyBOSS. On the front you will find the installation instructions for installing a new LibertyBOSS amalgam separator, on the back you will find the instructions for replacing a depleted LibertyBOSS.
LibertyBOSS Wet Vacuum Upgrade Kit
The Upgrade Kits were created to provide Dental Professionals with a simple step by step procedure on installing an amalgam separator in a Dental Practice. The kit comes with easy to follow steps, and all the parts needed to complete a standard installation. The Wet Vacuum kit is meant for Dental Practices who have a wet right vacuum pump.
LibertyBOSS Dry Vacuum Upgrade Kit
These instructions are similar to the Wet Vacuum instructions, just slightly changed to suit the installation on a Dry Vacuum suction pump.
Though having multiple instruction manuals can get confusing; M.A.R.S will only supply you with the specific installation instructions for the LibertyBOSS you ordered.
For added convenience, each user manual comes with a QR code which will quickly take you to the installation video of the LibertyBOSS you are installing.
Only the M.A.R.S LibertyBOSS is a true inspection free amalgam separator. Due to the design of the LibertyBOSS, there isn’t a chance for failure, clogging or premature filling. Our amalgam separator is designed to never restrict the flow below 1 ½” throughout our system. The large opening in the LibertyBOSS is the reason a system like ours does not require daily, weekly or monthly inspections.
Due to the superior design of the LibertyBOSS, it can never clog or cause suction loss. The confidence we have in the LibertyBOSS is why we offer a WRITTEN Guarantee of Service Life;
1-3 Chairs = 3 years
4-9 Chairs = 2 years
10-16 Chairs = 1 year
In 13 years of business, M.A.R.S has only ever experienced three failures. Each of these systems was replaced without question, to ensure our customers get the full-service life M.A.R.S has promised them.
Every amalgam separator manufacturer includes ISO Testing related information such as; – maximum fillable volume – maximum flow rate – Amalgam Separator Last (most are type 2 – sedimentation) – Maintenance and Inspection Requirements
As it can be seen from the photo of the maintenance section of our user manual, the LibertyBOSS only requires to have the system changed at the end of the given service life and for the office to use a neutral pH, non-foaming evacuation line cleaner daily. A process that should already be done in every office, as it is required by the Center for Disease Control – Oral Health Division.
At the end of the M.A.R.S LibertyBOSS User Manuals, there are instructions to complete your Warranty Registration Card and send it into M.A.R.S Bio-Med.
